If a new member will be attending to the activities held by MAACA, we would suggest that personalised ballistic goggles or glasses should be purchased. This is mainly to avoid the inconvenience of ending without eye protection when comming to watch or take part in an airsoft session.

Members can buy various types of goggles or glasses and even masks, the most important thing is that all need to be C3 Polycabonate, safe for airsoft.

Mesh masks are pretty cheap but we do not find them safe for airsoft, these come in two varieties, woven mesh and punched sheet mesh. The most hazardous is the woven mesh, as it is proven that apart of the wire mesh being displaced when BBs hit it at close range with a powerfull hit, fragments from shattered BBs can easily hit the eye. The punched sheet mesh is a little safer as regarding mesh strenght, but the eyes are still exposed to splinters of fragments from shattered BBs.

So better spend a little more and be safe, your eye is worth more then a few Euros.
